Consumers Want Australian
In a $1 million marketing survey carried out for the Australian Government's Department of Agriculture Fisheries and Forestry in 2004, 89% of Australians expressed a strong preference for Australian prawns.
With country of origin labeling in place this means there is significant benefit to Australia's prawn retailers and food service operators by putting Aussie prawns on our countries plates.
As mentioned under our promotional help link, we will assist with promotional materials that will highlight the Australian origin of the prawns we supply.

Year Round Supply
Australia's prawn farms are unique in their ability to supply fresh Australian prawns 52 weeks a year, and when fresh supplies are stretched, high quality freshly-frozen prawns. That is, our freshly frozen prawns have been frozen on the farm immediately following their processing using state of the art freezing technologies, locking in the fresh quality consumers seek.
Our ability to manage the quality and supply of product to domestic markets is unprecedented, allowing us to form long and loyal partnerships with those selling Australian grown prawns.
Promotional Help from Us

We will assure quality pre-order
All members of the Australian Prawn Farmers Association have on farm quality assurance programs.
As a part of this QA system, certain specifications for prawns, such as colour grades, size grades, marking grades and the like have been developed, to allow you as the customer, to pre-agree on each of these quality aspects before ordering your prawns.
The aim of this system is to give you the customer the confidence that when you order your prawns you get exactly what you are paying for.

Our farmers have standards
It is important that your customers can buy prawns with the confidence that they have been produced safely and sustainably.
In addition to quality assurance all members of the Australian Prawn Farmers Association have third party audited, HACCP based food safety systems.
In addition we are currently implementing an industry wide residue program, which includes tests for prohibited antibiotics and heavy metals, which will verify the clean green status of our prawns.
Members of the Association also comply with the industries Environmental Code of Practice, a document which recognises Australia's world leading sustainable management approach. Complying with the code is an additional step above the already stringent Government regulations the industry meets.
